Fedecacao
Fedecacao, the company of Colombian cocoa farmers, is a private law union organization, administrator of the cocoa promotion quota and of Fondo Nacional del Cacao dedicated to research, technology transfer and support to marketing for the promotion of cocoa cultivation in the country.
Fedecacao works to improve the living conditions of producer families by generating efficient, comprehensive and dynamic technical processes for agroindustrial development as a profitable, sustainable and competitive activity.
The number of families served by Fedecacao is 52,000 in 29 departments of the country and 422 municipalities.
The federation has three major programs:
1. Research Program: The primary objective is to promote and promote national cocoa farming, through the modernization of plantations, guaranteeing the producer materials with excellent characteristics of adaptability, production, productivity and tolerance, knowledge and love for cocoa cultivation has been highlighted in various scenarios, and is required by various entities to talk about the special characteristics of the grain produced in the country and the social histories that surround the production, transformation and commercialization through the cocoa farming families.
2. Technology Transfer Program: The National Cocoa Federation – National Cocoa Fund, has national coverage, has 22 technical units in the main cocoa departments, with the purpose of increasing the regional and national competitiveness of the cocoa sector. producer, accompaniment in the transfer of technology through individual assistance in planting activities, renovation, improvement and rehabilitation of their plantations, group training in the technological package of production, as well as in environmental and social issues.
3. Marketing Program: For the National Federation of Cocoa Growers – National Cocoa Fund, support for marketing is a priority, through which unconditional support is provided in the work of improving the benefit and quality of cocoa, through which the commercialization and export of the grain is promoted.
