In the goverment of President Iván Duque, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has committed to improve the commercialization of farming products with the strategy ‘Agriculture by contract”, which eliminated intermmediaries and had about 200.000 producers selling their products and reaching up to $ 1.4 billion.
In addition, Juntos por el Campo (Together for our Countryside) has led the economic activation of rural areas with different programs that are focused on providing machinery, subsidizing transport, providing financial support under low tax rates, and supporting food chains such as rice and potato.
With this support, and the effort of the Colombian farmers, they are supplying food to consumers all over the world. In the past three years, admissibility has been granted for 53 products in 24 countries, including hass avocado in China, Japan and Korea, Carne bovine meat in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Macao.
Together for our Countryside, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to achieve a more productive, rentable and competitive countryside.
