Mineducación
The Ministry of National Education of Colombia (Mineducation) is the State entity in charge of formulating the National Education Policy and promoting the development of relevant and quality education to promote opportunities for progress and development that contribute to closing gaps and social mobility.
In order to promote the processes of internationalization of the HEI’s in Colombia and to promote the country as a quality academic and scientific destination of interest to the educational communities of the region and the world, the Government of President Iván Duque launched Go Colombia.
Go Colombia is a strategy that includes the vision of the academic sector, but also of experts, agencies and national and international institutions with the aim of turning higher education into a highly exportable, quality service that contributes to positioning ourselves abroad as an attractive destination.
Our objective is to attract the attention of students, teachers, researchers and in general the international academic community, so that they know the offer of educational services that we have in the country and in this way we can encourage mobility, the articulation of projects and research joint between institutions to live a unique experience. Currently, our country has 70 high-quality accredited HEIs and about 1,800 accredited academic programs. In addition, some of them are in the different ranks of the best universities in the world. This has prompted us to continue strengthening internationalization processes and focus on building this strategy to position Colombia globally.
Additionally, with the GoColombia strategy, the government of President Duque focuses efforts to strengthen International Scientific Cooperation with the agenda of the Mission of the Wise Men, the implementation of the policy of internationalization of Science, Technology and Research – CTeI and the development of a Scientific Diplomacy strategy to promote science, research and innovation in the country.
GoColombia has the web platform www.gocolombia.edu.co, aimed at informing, promoting and positioning the country’s academic and scientific offerings for the international community and for learning Spanish as a second language.
